I have a RCA WP-25a for 40.00 plus shipping
I have a RCA Wp-27A for 65.00 plus shipping. I also have a Sencore PR-57 $125.00 plus shipping

The RCA Wp-25A needs on receptable to be replaced. I just taped it off and never needed to use that one tap

I used to have one of the Sencore PR57's, and it was (next to my VTVM), the most used piece of test equipment I owned. The PR57 is a great product!

If you have a scrap yard around and don't mind building your own case you can use control power transformers out of old switch boards.

Most scrap yards are HAPPY to get rid of transformers as it is a pain to burn the insulation to strip the copper from the core.

Almost all switchboard transformers have a KVA rating on the voltage plate. A 440 / 220 primary hooked 220 with a 120 / 220 secondary hooked 220. Operate at 120 / 120. You will be limited to 1/2 the KVA rating for current on 120 because of wire size. Heavy, but cheap. If you have a 220 outlet then the 220 / 120 gives you full current.

Being an electrician first and then a electronic technician second, I cant stress enough, the importance of a GFCI receptacle.
Even if the receptacle you're using isn't grounded, it will still give a degree of protection.
Besides a GFI, I still use an isolation transformer, for testing and some servicing.
