Interesting Ward's Airline transistor radio

Today, a lady gave me a bunch of electronic items and this Montgomery Ward's Airline 8-transistor AM radio was part of what she gave me. It's a model GEN-1228A and I think it's from '62. I found an EIA code of 742 on the model tag; which, translates to Esquire Radio & Electronics, Inc. Unfortunately, someone left dead batteries in this radio; which, made a mess of the battery contacts. It still looks very restorable and should be a nice radio.
