1954 Emerson 1012D Television Set

I just picked up this set and in doing the research on it, I can find virtually no information on it. Model 1012D, chassis # 120182D (same as model 741, 757, etc...) It uses a 17LP4 CRT, VHF only, wood cabinet and so on. Are they just that scarce or is it just an unpopular model? I have a Beitman schematic already and a Sams is coming for it.

.

That is a really nice tv, I had one a long time ago, they make a nice sharp picture,
I have about 5 Emerson tv's in my collection, but that one I did not keep. All the
ones I have now are 1958, & 59 metal cabinet sets, and one I think is a 636,
or something like that 12" round screen with really good picture tube.

My first ever tv was a 1959 17" metal cabinet Emerson. I finally just a few
years ago got another exactly like it, in really good shape, but needs a
fresh picture tube... Since they were a NJ based company, there were
lots of them around my area....

Good luck with yours....

In the early 1980s I would drive to the Village (NYC) on the Pulaski Skyway and see an old Emerson sign. Must of been their factory/offices...

That would make sense. Like Zenith around Chicago or Packard Bell around Los Angeles.

Well, wherever it's from, it's going to be an adventure to restore. At least it's in pretty good condition and no parts are broken or missing.
