Back in the day...

I had a bunch of old broadcast gear- switchers, 3DO's. Most of it got recycled, and some went to Kamakiri.

I had a friend who passed away not too long ago, that had a warehouse full of gear from the 50's & 60's. I mean stacked floor to ceiling with paths to go through the rooms. The things people collect...

No, liquor does not make you charming. That's what peyote is for.

Were/are there any CBS color wheel monitors, TV sets or color wheel cameras?

Truly too much to know what all he had. Not sure what has happened to it since he passed. If I find out, I'll post here...

I got to see all the equipment from W6XAH, which is stored in a barn in Bakersfield, CA. W6XAH broadcast from 1932 to 1935 and was Bakersfield's first t.v. station. I thought the gear got scrapped a few years ago but I have since found out it's still there. Too far away for me now to do anything with, though I have some papers and things related to the station.

It's a shame that you can't get pictures of the old equipment, it would be a sight to see.. Like stepping back in time.

A lot of the stuff that Justen gave me I donated to the Church, as they had productions that were going on, and needed the fresnel lighting.

Still have that big VCR thingy and some of the other stuff

I'm happy they found a good, useful home.

Steve Mc Voy has some pics of the gear on the ETF website. Also, if you google W6XAH, you'll find lots of pics from the 30's as well as info on the station.
