MH-48 Mic on a TH-9800 Transceiver

A Youtuber asked me about using the MH-48 mics on the Tytera TH-9800 quad band transceiver. I tried it out, and it turns out that it "kinda" works. Everything works except PTT. I read up online that you have to replace a resistor in the microphone itself with something different, but wouldn't that break compatibility then with Yaesu radios?

I guess it's because the TYT uses 5v, whereas Yaesu uses 8v from the mic jack, so there's different values of resistors used.

If it does break compatibility between radios, I guess I could always install a small switch that switches between resistors, but it'd be a kludgy mess.

Reason I ask for myself, is because I'll soon have two different brand of radios on my desk, and would prefer to have one mic.
