Victrola VV2-60 suitcase phonograph
Picked this one up over the weekend for a mere $22.50 at an estate sale . Motor runs nicely, but the reproducer is shot, obviously.
Says it's a Victrola 4, but can't find much on it. What reproducers can be used with this machine? Just think, I'll be able to take music anywhere I go!

A Victor No. 2 should work just fine, if you can find one with a matching gold finish. An Orthophonic reproducer could probably be used as well.

Lol! But it does not have a handle (anymore) so it's technically not portable.

I dont think the non-orthophonic sound boxes changed much over the years, most of them should fit. There were even aftermarket orthophonic type units designed to "modernize' old players. Most of the old ones will need new gaskets for the mica diaphragm, the rubber gets pretty hard after 90 years...

Maybe I'll try my Exhibition reproducer off my XI just for grins when I get a chance, I wasn't aware they were almost universal in fitment.
