info on majestic series 1122

Hello all,
New member here, very ignorant of early tv and grateful for any help. I've recently acquired a majestic series 1122. It is in great shape. It seems to work but I haven't attached an antenna so just get snow. Does anyone have any idea what it could be worth? I've attached a couple of pics. Any help is much appreciated. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't found this site!

Matt

A TV set this old should have all of its wax paper capacitors replaced. These caps all get electrically leaky and will cause the set to quit working eventually. I wouldn't power it up again before this is done.

Nice looking set. From what I've seen on this site and Antique Radio Forum, it's not a popular make and probably wouldn't be worth all that much (just being an uncommon or even a high quality brand doesn't always make it worth more, I've found) even if it worked perfectly, but there are guys on here who have a lot more knowledge than I do and can ballpark it for you.

Prices are all over the place on sets of that vintage. (early to mid-fifties) It has a nice cabinet, which helps. Sometimes these will go for $5 and sometimes a couple hundred, though $35 seems to be a popular price right now. Does that sound low? Remember, supply & demand (not too many nuts like us out there!) plus the difficulty/expense of shipping it anywhere.
