Newbie from the South Coast (Tx to MS)
Howdy,
I am from and keep my residence in Houston, but work up and down the gulf coast. I have always been into vintage things. Have restored a few cars and just did my first TV, kind of. Here are some pics of my first project. The CRT was gone and the board fried so I went a less traditional route. 1955 Philco 22c4118 (I think) What do you think? A few friends have asked me to build one like it for them so I am looking for extra cabs. I have lots and lots of Knobs, so I could build a custom cab, but i need the metal screen surround and some |

Welcome! Sometimes, that's the best thing you can do for a set

1) Folks here are into preserving/restoring old sets; "fishtanker" is a derogatory term around here.
2) That said, some sets aren't worth fixing up electronically. I believe your Philco is one of them. 3) Before doing this to a set, best to make sure it isn't desirable. Simply posting on here will let you know. 4) You can advertise leftover parts for free on this site. 5) Welcome!

Thanks for the replies, and I understand, comeing from some one who restores & builds furniture I alwyas hate to see a peiece being "shabby chic" whatever the h@!! that means.
The intention was for it to be restored, intill I got into it, there was not much left. Due to the fire on the board, and the - test of the crt. |
