Could someone post a photo of the side of

an RCA picture tube box that has the old round, lightning bolt RCA logo?
I have put so much effort into building this carton that I might as well go all the way and paint it as original. I plan to use it again and it will be available for others to use also. I have an idea as I have seen newer versions but it would be neat to make an almost exact copy.
Thanks!

Maybe it's just me, but I'd wonder if making the shipping carton stand out too much might be a bit unwise. Nothing says "Steal Me!" like a fancy looking shipping box. Granted, an old-style "meatball" RCA logo isn't going to be as big a thief-magnet as some other logos/labels might be, but is it really worth the potential gamble..?

Thanks everybody

I never thought of someone possibly wanting to take it but that's a good point.

I thought that having it labeled as the original cartons could be the best way to impress those around it to be careful. At the very least I want to put: GLASS; Please handle with care. FRAGILE. I wondered about: DANGER. I have had such boxes before but I forgot exactly which words were used. So, I thought I would copy the original. I want to put enough words but not too many. I thought if I go that far I might as well put the logo on as well.
I seem to recall wording like: Color Picture Tube.
I will ask Scotty at Hawkeye which shipper he recommends.

Earlier today I went to Uhaul and bought the box closest to specs and it seemed perfect. I spent a few hours turning it inside out because there was so much Uhaul advertisement there was no room for warnngs and glued extra layer of cardboard in bottom and at sides with the finger holes to lift it with like real tube boxes. I glued a styrofoam chamber in the bottom to distribute weight very well. then I put tube in to continue with rest of production to secure it without scratching that black paint only to find out it is wide enough but not square and two sides come to close to tube so tomorrow I start over!
I am so excited about getting it rebuilt I don't care how much trouble it will be!

Not RCA, but here's a picture of some old GE picture tube boxes.

Thanks Adam

I never saw a GE box. That sure is fancy! I guess that could be from the 60's?

Bobby.
Don't write danger on your box. Some bozo may see that and think there is a bomb in it and destroy your crt looking for it.

Oh yeah, that reminds me. Here's one of the graphics that someone posted when I was getting a box made.

http://home.att.net/~pldexnis/potpou...P22carton.html

It's also a 15gp22, but It's where the idea for the wine bottle divider thing came from (that I mentioned in Bobby's box thread).

Thanks gentlemen!

Just minutes before I saw these neat photos youve posted I had sent my friend with an old RCA tube box to blow up the red area with the logo to have 8 1/2" X 11" color sheets to apply to four or two sides. I was surprised to see the 15GP22 box as it looks almost exactly as I was planning to decorate mine. I was going to change the letters of " ELECTRON TUBE" to CATHODE RAY TUBE but I have to cut a corner or two on the decor because I have gone way overboard with time away from my usual responsibilities.
I think it will look at least as good as a movie prop for a "B" rated film.
Most importantly it will protect the contents well. I have a much better box I bought today for $20.00

Here it is!

Finally!

I decided not to get the vintage delivery truck. That would be going too far.
