Found a Sony KV-1200U!

I had some business to take care of in Pewaukee last monday, so on the way home I stopped in south Milwaukee at the Value Village and found a dirty, lonely little gem sitting on the floor. It was a whopping sum of $3 so it didn't even matter if it worked. Low and behold, it came on with a somewhat bright picture....eto....snow-ish looking...uh.. BLOBS of COLOR!, THAT'S the term!
Anyways, It's in really nice shape after I cleaned off the cobwebs, dirt, random splotches of well...something, spots from it getting rained on slightly, nothing inside showed any sign of getting wet though. The only cosmetic flaw is a small chip out of the CRT bezel but it's not that noticeable when watching it, just when you look down at it. The other flaw was two broken antennas but after trip to Chesters, she has two NOS shiny ones made by Sony with the red tips and even the little wrenches to install with. I've wanted one of these sets FOREVER, this one was built in 1969 or '70 it would seem. It's all cleaned up now and the CRT is VERY strong after I got it to wake up. There is a bad connection somewhere in the HV that arcs every once in a while so Until I can look at it better (hopefully this weekend) I'm not using it anymore, but she sure does look cute on a shelf in the meantime. I would post a pic but my wife.....or soon to be ex lost or stole my camera
So as soon as I can borrow one, I'll post a few. Now I have a KV-1310, KV1200U, KV-9000U, KV-1201, KV-1212 (It needs a lot of work but I think I can just peel off the shrunken vinyl, apply veneer and stick in my somewhat weak but good spare CRT) KV-1217 and um..that's it. I think. Needless to say but oh well "Watashi sony wa ureshii da yo!" I'm very happy to own these Sonys

Nice score, Mark! Isn't that the set that still uses an HV rectifier tube? Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of it.

Thanks! It works perfectly with bright CRT that tests very strong. I'll hook it to something for a screenshot when I get a chance....
