DVD with older sets

I know this question has come up before but I hooked my DVD player up to my 25NC38 last weekend and except for large white lines that come and go at the left hand top of the picture, it plays the DVD's great. What do I need to get rid of them? I don't have the trouble with my BETA tapes (just a bit of flag waving at the top.
Would a better modulator help or some kind of stabilizer?

The Web site videohelp.com has a searchable database of DVD players that often have secret menus where the Macrovision can be turned off. Mostly brand-X models, typically. I have a Digix Media player that has this ability.

If you have a DVD player that can turn it off great. Otherwise I would recommend making a DVD copy using DVD shrink. I have a few of the macro scrubbers I bought from a few different outlets and although they do work - they also compromise some of the luminance or detail depending on the method they used to remove the info from the blanking interval.

Your mileage may vary...
