Any Chrysler C-Body Fans?

I always liked the '69-'73 Chrysler Newports.. Went through a few of them in the early 80's..
I have two now, a '69 and a '72.
The '69 is special to me, as I always saw it parked in the driveway or garage of the house we used to pass by when I was young.
For some reason, I always admired it, and wanted to get one when I grew up.
41 years later, I ended up with the very car!
I am the third owner, the second bought it from the widow of the original.
Oddly, the second owner bought it because he used to see it as well when passing by on the way to school.. He got it with 70k on the clock and put on only 3k more.
He stopped using it, and stored it in a pole barn from 1994 to 2011, I cleaned out the fuel lines and tank, changed the fluids, and the old girl started up and runs fine!
Both the '69 and '72 were Jefferson built.

In one of my issues of 'Classic Trains' mag, is a photo of 86' 3 tier auto racks packed with these....brand new. I would love to go back in time and get them and move them to know - id win every demo derby for life....those were built like tanks. Tanks I tell you.

My Uncle Karl & late Aunt Susan had a '73 4dr Newport. It was that "Goldenrod" color. As well as I remember, it gave very good service. Seems like they had it til about '79 or so. Don't remember what motor it had, I would guess it had the 360.

My wife had a 65 Fury with the slant-6 for her daily driver not too long ago. We sold it maybe 5 years ago. It was a good ol' car. Nice one-pinky steering, it just floated down the road.

I'd like to have a 1972 Dodge Polara made to look like the sheriff patrol cars in the original Walking Tall.

in high school a friends family had a 73 new yorker and 2 73 imperials went on a few trips in those.
I eventually ended up with the Imperials which i drove through college.
now I have a 69 Newport.. its 1300 lbs lighter than my 73 imperial. one of the imperials had every option available, except the sunroof. It had 4 wheel antilock brakes, rear air, and automatic headlights.
Another college friend had a 73 Newport- we used to go railfanning in that all the time, even when it was -20F we would chase trains from Milwaukee to green bay.

I worked on several Imperials through the years for friends, but was never allowed to have one. (Only Detroit UAW employees can purchase and own one..) (LOL! Inside joke!) Another favorite of mine was the '73 New Yorker.

Hopefully it fared better than the 1971 Pontiac LeMans in The French Connection.

I like them for styling and all you get in a true full size car, i like the '69 best, especially in the imperial which i think is basically a newport. A '69 or maybe '71 fury actually had not only headlight doors optional that looked great but also headlight wiper blades with washers for low beams. Did newport offer that? I was surprised all chrysler offered then like electric sunroof and cassette tape recorder with it's own microphone in addition to the great 8track

I haven't looked at any of the sales brochures for that year, maybe only for models with the hidden headlight option? If anyone would know, it would be Carmine!

THe 71 imperial had headlight wipers too. My 73s had mounting points for them behind the headlight doors, but they were not listed on the list of options in the factory brochure.

I've always been a fan of '69-'73 C-body Mopars. Here is my 1971 Plymouth Fury III. I bought it in August, 2013. All original survivor with a 318. The original owner drove it sparingly from 1971 thru 1984 when he passed away. After that, the car sat in his widows garage untouched for the next 30 years.

I'd like to stumble on a deal like that for like a '71 4 door Dart A/C 6cyl. Auto...

I remember seeing a lot of those, but not with the rubber bumper guard
under the headlights..... Nice clock too.....
