Back in the 80's/early 90's I was really into video. Swapping music videos with people all over the world, filming concerts, etc. I spent five years living in the Czech Republic [1998-2003] and one of the best things about living there was all the great music on Czech TV. Once a week they would broadcast Jazz concerts recorded all over the country from 1964 to the present. I got back into tape trading at that time.

It's only been the last year or so that I started getting more into audio quality. I upgraded from a crappy 80's Fisher Studio Standard rack to my current system which is a restored Sansui 2000X receiver, Technics SL-1200MK2 and JBL L19 speakers.

Last night I dusted off the TV and pulled a VCR out of the closet to spot check a collection of VHS tapes that I'm selling over at AK. I started watching these Disco-era Musikladens that I taped off German TV and thought, I should really czech out that Videokarma site that I keep seeing ads for at AK!

I had a Sansui 2000X receiver a few years ago. I gave it away. Sorry I didn't keep it; excellent quality.

Oh yes. I bought mine on eBay. Cosmetically near perfect and very clean with the original box. After about 2 months I started having issues though. My regular repair guy had it for 2 months and couldn't fix it. I then bought a brand new Marantz of similar wattage. The Marantz is a nice amp. Then, I discovered that AKer JBLMAR is practically my neighbor and he restored the Sansui for me. Guess what, the new Marantz is in the closet and the 40 year old Sansui is the one in use!
