VM model 307 stereo record player from 1960
I recently got this nice looking VM model 307 stereo record player from an ARF member. I think it's been recapped; but, still has a loud hum that sounds like an issue with the wiring that leads up to the amplifier. I'll know more once I have time to tear into it.
The amplifier consist of a 50L6 output tube for each channel and a 12AX7 preamp stage. The power supply uses two silicon diodes in a half-wave voltage doubler configuration. I think this will be a high quality unit and I suspect it was geared more towards the institutional market (the model 207 was the same player, except it used a manual single play turntable).
