My 94 Caprice has died.

I bought it in 2004, and in 2010 got a motorswap from an ex girlfriend of mine who was a huge gear head. Well, in 2019, it died.

It's now in my garage, and I'm starting the job of tearing the motor down and getting it going. Cylinder 3 is not igniting. It was supposed to just be a spark plug wire issue, but as I started tearing things down, I found that there was more issues.. Water pump is leaking, harmonic balancer rubber is dry rotted. HO BOY!!

Anyway, to make things easier, I installed an old Kenwood receiver in the garage, and hung speakers up in the rafters.

At least it won't be a complete miserable experience working on an LT1.

If you're getting a miss on number 3 and it's not ignition related, I've seen a few of these blow a head gasket sideways into the next cylinder and behave like that. I've also had an older 350 just completely burn up the exhaust valve on just one cylinder. Have you checked the compression? And I mean check all cylinders.

Had a 350 that wore the first 2 lobes off of the camshaft, real noticeable with the valve cover off the rocker arms barley moved. Still ran smooth, just less power.

I've confirmed there's no spark though. Optispark is putting out juice for 3, but it's not making it to the plug, therefore faulty wire.

Sorry to hear she broke down. I had a '94 Roadmaster & the water
pump is a keep one in the trunk item. I went through 4 in 150Kmiles.
Trouble is if you let it ride water gets into optispark it destroys it.
Keep her going, its the last of the REAL GM cars.

BTW on LT-1 watch the water tube going between the heads on the rear.
Causes very int leak...

Oh yea, it's always a concern with these water pumps, I don't want to take any chances.

Speaking of issues, found this under the battery: https://i.imgur.com/ZmYkND2.jpg

It gets even better! Now I need to neutralize this before it gets any worse until I can afford a body shop to do something with it.
