Curtis-Mathis or King Kong?

I’ve seen wide and I’ve seen tall – but this Curtis Mathis might be the champion – they even stuck in an 8-track – to keep it up to date. You’ll need a piano mover. Fortunately - not in my collecting niche.

Wow, that's a big hunk of fake wood and cheap plastic... Curtis Mathes sets of those years are gaudy.

And to think, you could have bought a good used car for what that thing cost new.

Give it another 25 years and then it will become interesting to collectors. Right now, it's in that dead time zone of "no longer fashionable, and not old enough to be fashionable"...

Hi,

I would give this one the Fugly award. Boy is this set Gaudy. So much so, it must be preserved!

As of this evening this family size CM is still available on Craig's List. Repeat listing probably expires tomorrow. So, if you have barn space for the next 25 years - until this thing is “ripe” - I do have the seller's number: 510-501-526. It’s in the Oakland Hills of the San Francisco Bay Area. His name is Lance Freeman.

The top unit looks like an afterthought. There might have been more collector interest had it been a roundie.

really this entire post NEEDS to be moved I collect plenty of 70s Sets, this is completely void of style or taste.

this is the second time this hideous and ugly relic has invaded the early color section--- a never ending ad for a set that no one wants, the owner of the set is too cheap to bring it to the dump to be recyled!!

here's a set no one wants but has cooool 70s style, the start of the A/V big screen industry too.
