RCA CTC-5 Blue Lateral coil wiring
Hello-
I am working on a CTC-5 Stanwyck (Super chassis) that I got from another AK member recently, and I need to repair the blue lateral magnet/coil assembly. I have the RCA Field Service Guide, but no Sams Photofact manual yet (I keep looking on Ebay for set 353), and the RCA guide is not clear on how the early-production chassis had the coil connected. Apparently, later production versions used a movable magnet as is common on other chasses, but the early CTC-5 Super used a coil along with a Blue Lateral potentiometer on the chassis. Can anyone tell me the correct wiring of the coil assembly? (I have the pieces. It appears that it should be a 4.7 ohm, 1 watt resistor in parallel with the coil, then the ends of that combination go to the connector on the chassis.) If you have a picture of how it should look physically, I would appreciate it too. Thanks- Chris |

I gave ETF a copy of the RCA service manual for this chassis. Try contacting Steve if you come up empty handed.

Thank you for the notes. I will check with the ETF if I am not able to get a Photofact set soon. The cwc.net site shows a standard blue-lateral magnet installation-at least I have that right, I just need to know if there is anything special about this one.
