INROADS: is modern TV finally encroaching on my CT-100's color space...?

Looks that way.

"Samsung's LED light engine makes possible an Ultra-Wide Color Gamut that exceeds the NTSC defined color space spec...."

and

"A single super-bright PhlatLight™ LED chipset produces the red, green and blue primary colors, creating vivid, high-contrast images with an ultra-wide color range."

put them side by side, then the true winner will stand out. Companies hype their product too much --although I will admit that panasonic and samsung probably make some of the best looking LCDs I've seen....if that means anything.

I'll believe it when I see how the blacks compare.

Note to Samsung corporati: you're calling it Phlat?! That's like wack, yo!

Still not the same

I have lived through both the introduction of color as well as HD. In my mind there is still no comparison. In this day of micro-circuits HD is almost a ho-hum along with all the other millions of innovations available.

But back in the 50's when most Americans were just settling in to watch their new B & w sets, an amazing event was unfolding. COLOR TV!!!!!!!!

Almost seems out of place in that day and time.
