Tracking weight for an E-V 267 Cartridge?
Greetings everyone I picked up on ebay a NOS E-V 267 Cartridge for my Record Changer on my Magnavox "Berkley" Console and it seems to track lighter than what the original cartridge or even the Sonotone 2T Cartridge tracked at, as the tone arm floats about a 1/16" above the record surface and when I set a dime on top of the tonearm above the cartridge it takes up just the right amount of weight that is needed to make the tonearm track like it should, and according to my kitchen scale I have the dime weighs about 2 grams.
I've tried to look up a spec sheet for the E-V 267 cartridge but I've not had any luck so far, and V-M Enthusiasts website doesn't have that cartridge listed anywhere on their site. anyone have any specs listings for this cartridge, including its tracking weight? Thanks for your help. |

UPDATE: I figured it out, its 4-6 grams, and I figured out that 2 dimes installed aboved the cartridge between the cartridge mount and the cartridge itself is the right amount of weight to get the tonearm to track correctly, the nice thing about this cartridge is that its able to play stereo records no problem (its got a 0.7 mil LP needle.)
I ended up having to use the FM audio hookup on the back because the more modern ceramic cartridge isn't hot enough to be able to use the original Phono hookup. |
