Motorola SK40W-1
Saw this at the Flea Mart last week. Told myself if it's there next week, buy it. Of course it was there waiting and begging to go home with me. It was plugged in and working at the store but it had very dirty pots. It has all it's original tubes. Got it home and blew out the dust and cleaned the controls. This thing works great except the record player. Motor wont turn and it needs a new needle. Cartridge looks like it would work. I was hoping for the MPX adapter but no such luck. You cannot "just plug one in" on this one. It would take some minor rewiring but is possible. It uses a 3 channel amp. left. right and bass/woofer(1 6BQ5 and 2 6BM8's and 3 12AX7 drivers). Don't tell my Magnavox, but this sounds better. Built in 1961

Those late 50's early 60's Motorolas are really something different with that center channel bass amp. I am looking for one myself. I have the tuner and amp chassis for a 1959 model.

Piece of cake to get the record player working.
