This guy hit a goldmine

If this was me, I would have no clue where to begin.. First of all there are so many that I couldn't even take a quarter of the sets in this place..

I'm sure most are still there. That was CTC17 that drove out there to pick through sets.

Was that in Texas?? The extreme cataracts probably really discouraged someone.

This was a discussion over at ARF some time back. In the television section. I think most of it was scrap. Some went on e**y. Sure wish I could've grabbed a couple of those roundies

Just watched the video and what can I say, WOW!!! I wonder if that very first set on the way in the first warehouse is a 1956 RCA CTC-5? Anyhow I sincerely hope a lot of the sets were saved by collectors/restorers.

If those warehouses were down here in Australia and I was going through it, I would go nuts, there would certainly be a different range of TV sets that's for sure in which all the 50s/60s ones would be B&W and of brands like Astor, AWA, Healing, HMV, Philips, PYE, Kriesler etc. and the colour ones would be from the 70s/80s which would be Thorn, Philips, Kriesler, PYE, Rank Arena etc... My mate John of http://cool386.tripod.com/ in the Blue Mountains has upward of 200 TVs from the 50s to the 80s on his premise in garage and back shed so I've been fortunate to get an opportunity to see a shitload of historic TVs!

Finding a barn full of old TV sets like this would be a dream come true...But in these neck of the woods, the chances are very slim, but one can always dream, but you never know whats around the corner......

Crts were tested, sets were inspected and anything good or worth saving is here safe with me.
I have close to 100 of them here at home. 4 other collectors hauled off tons too. All round tube color stuff was saved,

The copper scrappers and twekers recycled what was left.

This stash may be gone but there are still plenty out there. Its all what they are worth to you and what you are willing to do to get them. I made several trips and spent thousands of dollars, I drove over 15,000 miles by myself. Some posts I read people are not even willing to drive 100 miles to get one off craigslist.

That's totally AWESOME news, glad to know everything of real value has been saved!!! Was there any real rare non-RCA roundies of the 50s era and any experimental sets??? And that TV at 0:56 to 1:15 in your video, is that a 1956 RCA CTC-5?
