Intermittant color sync, but otherwise works. No Cataracts either!

Nice looking set. Wasn't it on ebay within the past year? Cut my teeth on these. How I'd like to spend a Saturday night with it, the appropriate test gear, and a box of diddle sticks

I wonder how this set escaped cataracts? That alone should make this set fetch a premium.

It's got a replacement colorama tube, so that is why no cataracts.
Probably a simple fix. A color crystal or tube, or a simple adjustment?
Love the simple cabinet style on this one. I'd like to get it, but with the price of gas now, St Louis would break the bank

Seems like he knows what he's doing. Seller has the proper test equipment but for some reason didnt fix the set. I bet if he replaced the 6JU8 the color would lock in. Sometimes, just a slight touch up of the reactance coil will lock the color in perfectly with out the aid of additional equipment.

I know the seller. He collects TVs but sends most of them out to have them restored. I don't think he knows how to work on a set himself.

That seems like a great deal. I'm sure somebody will get it.
I noticed the color of the CRT didn't match the frame, so, I knew it was not the original type of CRT. I wonder if RCA ever had a set that came with that color CRT originally? Seems like every RCA roundie I see from like '63 up has the greenish CRT frame indicating it came with a matching CRT.

Hello, and thanks to everyone on this forum, I have finally registered and am the owner of this ctc-16. Finally, got a roundie! Heading from Cincinnati this Saturday to pick it up. It is going hold a place of honor in my home. It actually is going to be the first color set that I have had in seven years. My friend cdmarion who restored his Admiral Tele-bar has just finished restoring my 1948 Admiral triple thrill. This set has been my daily tv for the past seven years, and this RCA is exactly what I have been looking for years.
