It turned out to be a very clean and nice set to find . I already had plans to check this set out when I saw this posting. It originally was put up for sale at $150. So I never called on it. Covered up in the attic of a very clean little old home. i brought her into my house from the garage yesterday.
]I did not power it up, but checked the picture tube out and it started to come alive but there appears to be a problem with a pin connection. It was on it's 2nd picture tube a Philco. Someone had taped the plastic base to the glass and i believe it will need some correction by way of resoldering pins, I hope there isn't a break in one of the wires. I do not think there is any problem with my B&K tube tester. The split chassis is very clean, wires are still soft and clean and still has quite a few original Admiral tubes in it. All the stickers on the inside of the cabinet are in excellant condition except one. It has the back and all knobs are intact. The cabinet looks like new except for a few imperfections. It is a model 30B16-S. From what I was told the set was retired from service in the early 60's and i hope this set will play like it did back in 1949 five miles from where it started it from. |

I'm really glad someone picked it up. Looks like a nice one that deserves a good home in it's retirement years.
Hope it's an easy restoration. Half of it is done Terry |
