Arrow 1987 Hitachi CT-1367 Portable Color TV

Managed to save this one from the garbage. Brought it home, cleaned it up,
plugged it in and works like new ! It has a few scratches here and there but nothing too visible. Love the fake woodgrain.lol

It is made in Singapore in 1987.
Anyone have any info on it ?
Model number is: Hitachi CT-1367
Hitachi Remote CLU-190

Nice set.
A sucker for 80's tech I am, especially tv's and vcr's.
Really like the late 70's thru mid 80's Trinitrons but never find them here ... craigslist is always loaded with charcoal/black sets though ... maybe someday I'll find one.

1987 Hitachi

I used to have a 13 inch Hitachi of the same vintage that my wife had before we were married. It produced a fantastic picture for many years for us before we gave it to my brother. He used it for several more years before it quit! Probably 15 total. It did not meet as good a fate as yours. It went to a recycler last year. Too bad Hitachi got out of the consumer market.

It looks like you just took it out if the shipping carton. That set was well kept, to begin with! You did an excellent job of detailing it.
If sets were grungy to begin with, they didn't clean up that nice.

Thanks. I did detail it. Was pretty dusty when I got it.

Dust, I can handle! Sets that were in a kitchen, too near to the stove, or sets that were in a heavy smoker's home or a bar, never seem to clean up real well. Many years of experience cleaning the things up.
When "Fantastic" came out, it was a godsend. You had to watch the wording and the numbers on the knobs.

I dont use anything that harsh.
I used automotive paint spray wax, for cabinets and/or 10:1 diluted orange all purpose cleaner for stubborn gunk.

Sorry I am lazy, shop lingo.

FBT= FlyBack Transformer
HOT= Horz Output Transistor
HDT= Horz Drive Transformer
DY= Deflection Yoke
Jug= CRT
TNR= tuner
GE= Good Enough
ZENO= Zenith
just to mention a few..........
Zeno needs explaining. An old Italian couple came in to buy a set.
Real thick accent. After getting a feel for what they needed I
ask about brand preference. "Nothing but a Zeno" It was one of
those memorable things & became part of the shop lingo & my
screen name.
Yes they did buy the Zeno. Mediterranean cabinet of course !
