WRMI is a big shortwave broadcaster out of Miami. They mostly sell air time to other folks (mostly preachers). Their facility used to be Family Radio and the antenna farm is in Okeechobee. I can't remember if it's Radio Slovakia or Radio Romania, but one of these two contract with WRMI to broadcast their shows to North America. "Brother Scare" is one of their most prolific customers (once you hear this guy, you'll know why he earned his nickname).

I've been noticing they have been playing music in the morning on 9395 kHz lately....it's nice, I hope they keep it up.

I was going to post earlier but I thought it was a typo. OK I figure the freq is shortwave with the numbers.I got to check it out.Just look at WRMI's webpage with the info about their 100Kw transmitters and other info.

I have tuned in WWCR Christian radio out of Nashville which was original country music until they went Christian programming along with other talk shows full time years ago. They still play classic country hour in the station which I tune in and listen. With 4 100Kw transmitters kicking out four different programming choices . It would be not hard to not find them.

I could not imagine what their electric bill would add up to.

Its nice to hear music on the shortwave band.

I heard WRMI last night on my Zenith TO 3000-1, using just the radio's FM/SW whip antenna (Waverod). The station must have a very powerful signal to the east, as it was coming in here like gangbusters.

BTW, I did not realize WRMI was formerly a country-western station; I always thought it was on shortwave exclusively.

WMRI wasn't a c/w station... WWCR was.

WWCR : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWCR

WRMI : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/WRMI

Both are exclusively shortwave stations.

I had the station on last night on my SW radio and WebSDR radio online. It comes in and out on both of them.

I notice the station is not as strong as WWCR which come in clear 24/7 here.

Blasting into Atlanta area

They need to start selling spots. At least, to cover the electric bill. Too bad Radio Shack went under, but maybe they can pick up C. Crane as a sponsor. Florida Power & Light is not exactly cheap.
