I made it home. The truck is packed with a load of Tv goodies. I had to leave a few things at my garage in San Antonio. The trip was around 2,500 miles.

Had a great day with Charlie. Wished I had more time. The truck is just loaded with my stuff in the picture. We really picked up some good stuff. The tires on the beast were almost flat from the weight. Missed the huge pile in the front of the shop. It was hauled off. We can't win them all.

I will post pictures tomorrow.

This is polaraman's truck at the end of the trip. Six cabinets of SAMS, three console and four color portable Tv sets. Not all of this came from the TV shop. I could have filled my truck though! The set with the back facing the picture is the modular rectangular Setchell Carlson color set. That is also now in my collection. The gold and white set w/o a back is a CTC 22 parts set. I will now be able to keep mine going for a long time.

I know the sets are rectangular but I got them at the TV shop. The set on top is a Truetone tube color portable. I got two of those with the intention of making one good set. The bottom is an Olympic CT 911 tube color portable. I really thought it was unusual set. It was face down in muck when I rescued it. The Olympic does show a picture but it does need work. I will post in the rectangular section when I begin working on it. The one Truetone has a poor picture also.

Rich...

Wow! I'm surprised you've already put the juice to those portables. You haven't hardly had enough time to get the muck off! Yeah guys... he wasn't joking... it was face down in the muck!

Did you have a chance to test the crt's on the smaller sets?

That same day, I also brought home a few items. (We really had that truck loaded) Got a Motorola b/w set with a busted base. The main reason for getting this set was to pull the 21CBP4 out of it (provided it's good). I got a few small various parts. Also, I got a bunch of Sams. Basically, Rich and I bought these Sam's from a friend in Beaumont and then split them up between the two of us.

ATTN: PEVERETT I think this moto has the knobs you are looking for.

I got this table top Moto from the shop a few days before Rich got here. CRT is dead. It's pretty clean, so, if the toob in the previous set is good, it will go in this set.

Sorry for the lousy pics... still using the old camera with focus issues.

This is the time of year to be hunting old TVs-Who was it here that loaded an old radio in his van, & nearly wrecked when the 756,943 waspers came out to see what the hell was happening to their home & why was it moving?!? If anyone wants it, there is a Hornet's Nest hanging over the road at our farm that has to be the biggest one I've ever seen. Must be 3- 4' long, & at least that big around.-Sandy G.

In the back of the truck? oh yeah forgot all about those. Rich spotted three CTC11 chassis up on a top shelf. IIRC, two of them had missing power transformers... maybe a flyback was missing on another. Rich took those home for parts to use with his 11.

He also spotted a couple of 16 chassis in a pile. Didn't really have room in the truck for them. I will be going back tomorrow, so, I'll grab 'em.

Also gonna try to get a nice 1950's Philco b/w console. I saw it had a brightener. I'll have to dig around to find another crt for it. Where I'm gonna put it... i have no idea.

NASADOWSK,

The shirt can be had at the Mopar Collectors Guide magazine web page. Free shirt with a one year susbcription.

I am fooling with the Olympic right now. Had to find a Phillips screwdriver!

If your work area is as bad as mine, finding what you need to fix the set could take longer than fixing it!
