I would watch old TV nut
and his 1964 fair-weather freinds passing in front of the camera. That's as cute as it gets.

Oh Boy!
I just watched the first episodes of "That Girl" for the first time and I am blown away by how great the entire show is from the changing intros to the last credit. I saw one with Ethel Merman from "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" and much else I am not familiar with. That episode is outrageuos!
It's so neat to see New York in the late 60's and the cool personalities that I hope still exist somewhere. Those are the people I want for freinds in real life! I wish Marlo was single and would consider a younger man! The characters remind me of old photos my parents made some time ago. That show makes me want to learn everything about that girl! |

That Girl
Did you see the episode in which George Carlin was her agent? You never know who you'll see on this show.

No but I will look for it
I love George Carlin!
He's one of those great men who is just as fresh now as he was in the 60's. |

Peter Pan in color!
I bought a copy of Mary Martin starring as PETER PAN. This is a 1960 color video of the show. But sadly the goodtime entertanment version cuts off both the NBC peacock at the begining and the Tag at the end showing this has been a color production of the NBC television network.\ I still have a copy from the 70's on beta with both

I also have that Goodtime's version of Peter Pan. I would suggest,if you still have that beta machine kicking around, that you transfer the beta copy to DVD. Failing that, check and see if there's a video transfer co. in your area that can do the dub for you. The NBC peacock opening really sets up the program. -Steve D.

This afternoon, Maryland Public Television ran that special on the Andy Williams Christmas programs. Very cool 1960's video! It should show up on other PBS stations, especially if they're doing fund drives.
As for the Peacock, there's an excellent 1960's version on the DVD, "Movin' With Nancy," the 1967 Nancy Sinatra special. It also has the NBC "snake" logo at the end with the chimes. BTW, it's a very cool show to watch on a roundie. It was the first thing was played on our CTC-f when we first got it. |
