Blonder-Tongue mini-mods

I have seen these on eBought, and I went into a listing that spooked me, reason being that it was stated that the place of manufacture is Taiwan. I hope this was a mistake. I went into a couple of other listings, neither of which stated the place of manufacture and I couldn't see any labels indicating this.

Also, if they're actually made in North America, I would like to know for sure if the output channel can be changed. I see them labeled as broadcasting on a particular channel, but apparently there is an adjustment pot for that.

All my Blonder Tongue gear is made in Taiwan. Why does that concern you ?

If you are referring to mini-mods like this model MICM-45, they are fixed channel.

The agile line of modulators allow you to program the output channel like this AM-60-550.

You can learn more about them on Phil's website: http://antiqueradio.org/HomeTVTransmitter.htm

Oh, it's just that the general consensus around here is that Chinese made=garbage.

I once read here that if one wants to change channels the "old-fashioned" way, a few modulators can be used, one programmed to every other VHF channel to avoid bleed-over. Feeding them from different video devices would be fun.

Good website, thanks.

Taiwan IIRC actually is it's own sovereign nation despite China laying claims on it. I believe we used to be on Taiwan's side until Nixon opened up trade with China...
IIRC they tend to make better quality stuff than China.
