Schematic for Panasonic CT-1112 TV
Does anyone know where to find a schematic for a 1980-ish Panasonic model CT-1112 color TV?
It's a small tabletop that I bought when new. Still works fine except for occasional vertical instability. I suspect the cause may be an aging electrolytic, but I don't want to open it up and start shotgunning electrolytics, of which I assume there are many. And I'm not enough of an engineer to stare at the boards and say "Aha, that must be the one." The Sams website doesn't list a manual for this set. Doing an Internet search for "Panasonic CT-1112 schematic" brings up a bunch of sketchy looking schematic sites that are plastered with ads and maybe worse junk. Most SS sets have the vertical output transistor/IC on a decent sized heat sink. One strategy, if you can't find the manual, is to google the heat sink mounted chip numbers datasheets until you figure out which is the vertical then change the nearby lytics.
Also, some sets will use the exact example circuit from the datasheet so if you can't get the TV's schematic you might be able to find the vertical's schematic in the chip datasheets.

Try the chassis number also. Should be inside on a white tag, sometimes also on the back. One good trick with "no manual" is the parts designaters ( R###, D### etc). Most sets come in blocks like IIRC 800 #'s power supply 400 #'s vert. 500#'s horz/hv 100#'s IF When you find the vert out IC look for matching numbers. Example Vert IC IC401. All other vert parts will have a 400 series number. Odds are is a 'lytic or cold joints on the IC. While in there check for cold joints under the FBT, very common..... Those were great little sets. We sold Zenith but they only went down to 13" so we sold the Pannys, no regrets. good luck 73 Zeno LFOD ! |

Thanks for the tips. They give me something to work with.
This little set really has been an Energizer Bunny. This is the first hiccup during many hours of operation over the years. Phil Nelson |
