Great!
Now you just need a TV hauler to replace the van.

No, not really. The guy I sold the van to is my buddy Ed....the guy I was at ETF with. He's got at least 200 sets.

I'm smart

Been a little bit, so wanted to update the thread. The car is, of course here

A little more work than I anticipated in some areas, but less in others.....just like any ebay car purchase.

First thing to address was the floors. On the plus side, it seems to have rusted from the inside out....the car was originally equipped with a rubber floor mat (which was under the carpet) that didn't do it any favors. It's surprisingly solid except in the front, which I expected.

From here, it's scrape, wire brush, vacuum, scrape, wire brush, vacuum....then fire up the compressor and cut out the damaged driver's side. I plan to have this floor completely done within a week.

The exhaust was rotted from the axle back, so I bent a new section over the axle and installed a Thrush glass pack. She sounds pretty mean

I never realized Ford made a V-8 that small, outside of the flat-heads.
I had a '65 Ford Econoline van with a 170 six, a real gut-less job, but fair on fuel. It could have been worse, as Ford made a 144 cu six, unless they quit using it that year.

Actually i'm pretty sure the 289 came out in '63, or '64 for sure. A friend of mine had a '64 Galaxie 500 XL in high school with the 289. We pulled it out and put a 352 4 barrel in it.
Good times.
