RCA CTC-15? on SF CL

Wow here's another one on the San Fransisco CL! Looks ad states it was purchased in 1960, it's more like a ctc-15 or 16, 1963 or 64 remote control model...

These things are popping up all over around here!

very nice. With remote and the good cabinet makes it even better. It is a 16. The sellers dates are a few years off. That set was built either late '64 or '65. If it has the ctc16X chassis, its from '65, if its the L (early production) then its a '64 which also has that dangerous power switch. Since it hasnt burnt a house down in over 40 years, its probably fine.

i just purchased a ctc 15 remote set from craigslist. they claimed it was from 1959 and had receipt to show purchase. when i got there,it was misplaced.no problem, wouldnt want to embarass them. beautiful cabinet to the floor(no legs)
and it is clean enough to eat off.vdc tube from 1991 and it looks great-EXCEPT THOSE VERTICAL ISSUES AGAIN! cant get a full screen. just short at top and bottom.this is a keeper and still looking for crt to fix the combo.

Hey Sampson,

I had a CTC-16 with the vertical stretch issue. Couldn't get the vertical stretched all the way. Did this set gradually get worse and stay there, or was it like that when you got it.. Look for the 150k 1/2 watt resistor between the vertical lin and vert height. It's probably bad. If it's not that resistor, it's the 150k resistor between the vert cent and vert height. It's most likely aged and faulty. Just replace it even if it reads good. I had a head scratcher, same issue. I replaced it and voila, problem solved. Also replace tghat horrible lytic on the vertical board, I believe it's a 50mfd.

Good luck!

Nice. I'm happy that thing is far away, I have no more room for another combo set, but if it were close with the remote control and those speaker grills I like, I would have to get it.

Those combos just keep coming! I have a woman down here in the Ventura area who is trying to sell me a CTC-15 combo. And there have been a few of them on eBay too. Nice, but who has room???? I have a barn, but with rats & mice, that's not good for TVs.
