At that time in the US typical mid class family had
25" color in living room
13-19" color in adult bed room, often remote.
12" B&W's for the kids rooms.

Consoles were a big status symbol for the poor. The TV could barely
work but a nice cabinet was a must. Lots of used TV sales !
When projection sets came out two types bought them. The very
rich & the very poor. They were the ultimate status symbol BUT the
mid class avoided them.
