Awesome! Maybe have some 40-year-old scotch like Brent LeRoy on his 40th? Personally I'd go for his usual lunch of 3 chili cheese dogs. Full size, not those wimpy ones from Dairy Queen.

Congrats! Take a look at the BITX40. Get on 40 meters for 60 bucks! Yeah, you have to do some assembly, it's only 5 watts and only one band. Lotta fun for the money though.

I get FL sometimes on 40 at night. On 20m I get there pretty often.

Talking I passed too!!

It took me 4 (yes 4) tests in the same day today....two at two different locations, but I finally passed Part 3 of the FCC amateur radio license test and have upgraded to a General Class license. Just call me N2LCJ/AG!!

I credit my new license privileges more to prayer and dumb random luck than hard study and knowledge. But just like in football, it doesn't have to be pretty....it just has to be caught in the end zone

Congratulations!

That's a great looking transceiver, but I am a little confused about the position of the dials, the bandswitch and the digital readout, or even the use of the upper analog dial.
"What's the frequency, Kenneth?"
