Slightly OT : VCR Head Cleaner

Good day to all,

To help a TV buddy in France i searched my files for the company which used to supply us with VTR head cleaner when i was working for Ampex.

They manufactured a product which was even more potent than carbon tetrachloride and it was the only stuff that could "bring back from the dead" a severely clogged video head. The product was sold in small red tin cans and was Ampex P/N 087-007 (by lots of 8 cans)

The company's name was APT Solutions, 309 South Grant Avenue
Colorado 8 - Fort Collins. Last contact: 1992.

What i am looking for:
- Does the company still exist under a new name? i tried various US phone book search services, but aside from being desperately slow, nothing of real value turned up.

- Do you know the exact chemical used in those tins? I could then attempt to find it locally here in France, as current air transport regulations probably forbid shipping of this highly flammable product. (it was already a problem back in 1992 and had to come by cargo ship).

Many Thanks! in advance for any suggestions,

Best Regards

jhalphen
