HI XDCAM

sorry for delay in my reply, up to my neck in work this month, You can run the psu/base station up with out the camera, I assume it is the triax camera and not the LDK25 cable type. I have got the rear connections to the psu and will try to look them out before I go away to work again on sunday for another week.

The channel is fairly robust and on OBs we used to switch them on and wait for the camera to be connected. The CD driver card next to the PSU gave trouble in starting up and often had to be "warmed up literally" to get it to go.

Watch out for the tantalum capacitors, after a long period of unuse they can fail on switch on leading to a smoke signal.

good luck.

Brian
