WTB: VHF Antenna for PortaColor

Hello,

I am looking for a replacement VHF antenna for a GE PortaColor. The SAMS book lists JFD part number TA 493 as the replacement. If anyone has one of these available, please let me know.

Thanks!

Original part number is EP83X6, and were hard to find even in the 80s.

The reason? Originally, they stick up, even when stowed. All replacement rods stowed in a lower position. Also, the rod length was non-standard. Here's what he's looking for:

I have over 100 NOS replacement rod antennas from my Dad's stash - but no PortaColor antennas except the two pictured on my curb find PortaColor.

Cheers,

I'd certainly prefer the mfgr. original part, but am open to either.

It seems that this is another unique/rare part. Luckily the one I'm seeking to replace isn't critically damaged. It's just that the end segment of the telescoping rod doesn't stay retained, so it is a bit tricky to extend the antenna. But it's been that way ever since I got it 28 years ago, and only really matters on the infrequent occasion of moving the set & needing to extend the antenna.

It's one of those details that would be nice to fix, but on the other hand, since I've had the set so long & have lots of memories using it, keeping it the way it is might mean more to the sentimentality of it.

Regardless, I'm still interested in having spare parts, just in case.
