The 42 is equal to a 6F6G. The 41 is equal to a 6K6G, a lot weaker tube.

Yes, but a 6F6 is an octal. The 42 is an ancient 6 pin....

yes but im talking about a direct fit without socket changes ,the 41 is alittle weaker amp ,now if you want to make a socket change there are a few other tubes you can use but it wont be orignal .

i checked on ebay ,there is a good supply of 42 s right now and pretty nice price too.

Anybody got any 6082, 3TF7s, or 26Z5W ?!? Those are all R-390/390A tubes..

i can check , if you stay out of trouble sandy .i have a few more boxs i havent fully check out yet,its kinda what iv been doing this winter testing and reboxing tubes ,and organizing the mess.
