Most SS sets have the vertical output transistor/IC on a decent sized heat sink. One strategy, if you can't find the manual, is to google the heat sink mounted chip numbers datasheets until you figure out which is the vertical then change the nearby lytics.
Also, some sets will use the exact example circuit from the datasheet so if you can't get the TV's schematic you might be able to find the vertical's schematic in the chip datasheets.
