I really would not use anything coarser on it unless you have deep scratches you absolutely want to remove. But once you go to a coarser abrasive the overall luster on that finish will never be the same.

The set is black bakelite. My son thought it is brown but I showed him a brown version I'm just working on now. Is the Novus #2 just like pumice or rottenstone that I use for wood cabinets?
