Here's the rusty power transformer. I used a wire brush to remove most of it. Then, I brushed some stain Rustoleum black enamel on the sides and sprayed the top with gloss engine enamel.

Seriously, I know the feeling. The closest I can get to fixing up a TV is this forum. Most of my stuff is already in Florida and I am taking more the end of this month. Funny when you go looking for a part and then... Darn, it is in Florida. And I have made the same New Year's resolution... Finish what you started, darn it, finish it!!!
