when i want to clean that type of hair thin enamel wire i put a flat blade scredriver held in place, lay the tip of the wire on top of the screwdriver and with the soldering iron i pass it on the wire while pressing very gently against the screwdriver, i give it two or 3 passes , flip the wire or the screwdriver and repeat. works for me on flybacks,peaking coils and other stuff.
