Turns out he got the extended warranty from Best Buy. Not sure when they will be out to look at it. But if they can't fix it, he will be getting a new one. He paid $3,500. So we will see if he can apply that to another tv. They have nice sony 75" 4k, or the 65" OLED LG. Not sure how long those OLEDs will last though.
I have two sony LCD's, both with excellent picture. A 2007, and a 2009 both never been serviced. Much more natural color than this samsung.
