'58 Newcomb P-12C classroom record player

I just picked up this '58 Newcomb P-12C phonograph off ebay. Once I got my hands on it, I discovered that this must have been the cheapest model offered by Newcomb because it uses a basic transformer-less 3 tube (35W4, 50C5, and 12AT6) amp. Even though it's a cheaper model, it still sounds decent. It actually sounds better than a similar Califone with the same tube line-up. The amp has two wax paper caps, along with a four section electrolytic can; which, will eventually be replaced.

The player has a 3-speed drive (33, 45, and 78 rpm) and uses a large idler wheel along with 3 small turrets for the 3 speeds. Of course, those will need to be rebuilt.

Overall, I think it will turn out to be a nice unit. And, these maroon cased ones don't turn up that often.
