Eckhard had worldwide impact on the antique TV community, and will truly be missed. Glad to hear that his website content will be preserved. I hope it gets posted somewhere accessible for future reference.

Perhaps the Philco Safari I sold him will end up in the Kuba museum? I'll have to check it out next time I'm in Germany.

One unfortunate thing that can happen when a nice collection like this transfers from a collector to a museum is that the sets might no longer be maintained in operating condition, and enjoyed as functioning sets. That's something unique we have with our own sets while we are alive.

Nonethess, this outcome (preserving the collection in a museum) is one of the best possible outcomes for a collection. We've all seen how things get dispersed and trashed in many cases, with little appreciation for the value of many of the items to the antique TV community.
