For those that have the classic Zenith and (early*) Insignia boxes that crash:
Put a momentary, normally closed SPST button switch in the line. If it crashes, just push the button!
I've also seen a few of those old boxes that somehow refuse to crash.
*The insignia boxes that look just like the Zeniths.
