A little update: finally, today I have received the remote control.
The volume push buttons aren't higher than the other ones, but they were broken along the junction on the fulcrum. Luckily I have other two RCA remote controls of the same period but the 7 buttons type. One was very damaged, so I took one double button of this and now the 14 buttons remote is perfect again.
