CTC-5

Hi Terry,
Your CTC-7 is coming along nicely. The CTC-5 "Special" cabinet as I said is hardboard glued to a wood frame. The Mahogany finish is printed on the hardboard. So stripping is out. The best you can do, in my opinion, is to apply some filler where needed and then paint the cabinet. Black would be my color choice. Another option might be to apply that adhesive shelf paper in a wood grain pattern. The results can be pretty good. My CT-100, which was recently restored, is experiencing some hum and video breakup on the upper channels. I guess I will pull the tuner and do a good cleaning for openers. Good bidding.
