Which roundie color jig, the RCA one? I'm redoing one, might need parts if you can post pics. Also if any 21AXP22's I'd pay out my you know what.

DaveWM 04-15-2015 09:28 PM

its the same as yours, but with out the meter in it. there a no real parts to speak of, its just a metal box, no back, but does have a CRT installed so there is some hardware for that. Its in very good shape, no rust, hammer tone looks good. The CRT that is in it is very weak but I just use a brightner on it and its good to go.

I have a 21AXP22 spare but was keeping it for my CTC-5 wingate (its currently in installed a untouch CTC-5 blonde special).

Which color roundies are you wanting to part with?

DaveWM 04-16-2015 08:53 AM

ok going to start scrapping out some, will begin with the zenith. It has a very ruff cabinet, and the chassis has some surface rust. I will prob keep the chassis but may put it on ebay its a 24MC32

If you are local and want to come see them in person, and then take away, you may. the pricing on all sets will be something like this

100$ with weak CRT
200$ with ok CRT
300-400$ with good CRT

You must come check them out in person so you know exactly what you are getting, so this is really aimed at locals only or if you are coming to Orlando and can stop by.

example the zenith will be 300$ as it has a good CRT.

I just need the room and will scrap for parts if no one take me up on it soon.

If I still lived in Fl. I'd have to visit.

As a spectator that can't handle shipping that far, I think you're about 30-50% high on the prices you quote unless the set is pre 1963, minty, or a rare off brand. I can get good 21FJP22s for a 100$ out here (so seeing 300$ on one value seems overly optimistic to me).

DaveWM 04-17-2015 11:24 PM

well thats ok, its not worth my while to mess with them for that much I would rather just keep the CRTs anyway if that is all I would get for them.

tvcollector 04-18-2015 06:07 PM

Some stuff I have, I basically had to give away just to keep some space.. I've got too many sets coming and not enough room to put anything.. As of this last set, I'm going to have to put a stop to getting sets unless I sacrifice alot of stuff, and stuff that no one would buy such as 80s sets.. Goodwill we know wont except them.. If there is something that some one wants, maybe someone should hire a mover.. I have to If I want to get what I want..

DaveWM 04-18-2015 09:27 PM

I would LOVE to know.....whrere you can get good, "plug and play", 21FB/FJP22 tubes...for $100. (By plug and play I mean good on all guns and NO serious cataracts--ready to go in a set...with NO issues.)

Sure--you CAN find old sets and the FJ or FB tube are likely ok emission wise...but are NOT likely to be free of cataracts...nor are ANY color tubes from that era...And so they would need repaired to use in a set.

Electronic M 04-19-2015 07:56 PM

I don't give a flying damn about cataracts. The Zenith type is a breeze for me to fix, and I want more practice with the RCA type. Any old idiot can learn to remove a cat and it makes for a fun project.

As long as a CRT has vacuum, good emissions, no phosphor burn, and the face ain't too scratched/chipped it is as good as I could want.

I've seen them that cheap at some meets, and I have actually been GIVEN 21FJPs in the last 4 years.

SwizzyMan 06-06-2015 08:38 PM
