'56 Hoffman Colorcaster parts
Set sold.

You can't be serious. If you want cash, offer it COMPLETE. Probably just about all of the regular contributors here (the ones who are serious about TV restoration) have a spare chassis that would serve the needs of your instructor friend as well or better than the chassis out of a rare and valuable early color set. I urge you to reconsider and put the complete set up for sale.

I second the option of selling the set complete - even in poor condition. That set is significant in that it is a more rare and a very early color set.
You will not make any money selling knobs and a dead jug - offer it COMPLETE.

I agree with the other posters. No matter how bad, someone will be willing to pay you for the complete set. I can be restored, and is worth the effort. Any old tube TV chassis will serve your friends educational needs. No need to wast a very rare color TV chassis. Pleas save this set! Don't part it out!

Ok, It will come complete. It won't be in one piece but they will all be there. Just don't have the time or resources at the time to do it. Its to much for me.

Now you should restate you ad, and set a price. BTW I unfortunately will not be buying it, just too far away from Florida. But hopefully someone here will buy it. Good luck!

Isn't that the chassis that is a clone of an RCA CTC5. I saw one of those years ago and the only difference was the tuner assembly.

Cruiseomatic 01-10-2011 07:18 PM

I believe it is too.

Advertise it a few places-besides VK, do the ARF and the ETF classifieds. If all else fails, go ebay.

If the transformer is the same one that RCA used, I would think somebody would have a spare.
