Hey, did you swipe my TV? Still can't decide whether I love or hate these bugeyed Zenith tabletops. Mine's a good performer, though :-)

My Dad had a friend that was the RCA dealer here in town, and he did part time repair work for him in the 50's and 60's. Dad was always bringing home different sets that were traded in, he'd usually get them for free fix them up and sell them. I remember he brought home one of those Zenith's and fixed it up, we used it for several years, had about the sharpest picture of any of the many sets we had. Neat sets, I've always wanted to find another one.

Mine is a daily watcher. I've been using it as my main set since i recapped it in june. I havent replaced the selenium rectifiers yet, so I dont leave it plugged in when I'm not around. It was actually playing when i walked into the Antique shop in Columbus, black beauty caps and all. I have the diodes sitting on my bench, but I dont feel like lugging the set from the second floor to the basement just to solder them in. The one thing i have done is screwed a couple of 120mm PC case fans to the metal back and shoehorned in a small 12v power supply, to keep the set cool. I dont have the safety glass attached to the set in this picture, as it has a large gouge dead center of the screen that i cant stand looking at. Does anyone have a parts set with a good safety glass they would be willing to sell?
